The 48th YERAC will bring together early-career scientists in the field of radio astronomy to present and discuss their research. It is aimed at PhD-level researchers, though more junior scientists or recent graduates will be considered in exceptional cases. The programme consists of mandatory talks by the participants. In addition, there will be daily scientific [...]
The 10th IRAM millimeter interferometry school will be held October 1st - 05th 2018 at the IRAM headquarters in Grenoble/France and is co-sponsored by the RadioNet project. It is intended for students, post-docs and scientists who want to acquire a good knowledge of interferometry and data reduction techniques at millimeter wavelengths, with a special emphasis [...]
The annual meeting of the RadioNet Board was held on March 20th, 2018 in the Harnack House of the Max Planck Society in Berlin. At the beginning of the meeting, the RadioNet Coordinator, Anton Zensus, summarized to project status after one year. He stressed the purpose of the collaboration, namely to create a coherent and [...]
March 19-23, 2018, at Lorenz Center in Leiden, this workshop brings together experts and interested radio astronomers to learn how to produce high resolution images with the Low Frequency Array (LOFAR) and to discuss and finalize the details for implementing a pipeline to do this on a large scale to post-process already existing observations. During [...]
On 15/16. March 2018, this workshop at ESO in Garching/DE will cover both line and continuum data, and will consist of introductory lectures followed by hands-on tutorial sessions on ALMA single-dish data reduction in CASA, spectral line reduction of submm data in CLASS, bolometer software for APEX instruments (BoA for LABOCA, Scanarmorphose for ArTeMiS), and [...]
In the workshop Galaxy interactions and mergers across cosmic time in Sexten/IT (11-16 March 2018), open questions relevant to the role of mergers in galaxy evolution, both near and far, are being discussed. Firstly, the focus is on how to best identify a merger, both observationally and in cosmological simulations. Next focus is quantifying the impact of interactions on [...]
