RadioNet is an EC funded project, which brings together the premier radio astronomical facilities in Europe to serve a growing research community across all of Europe and beyond.
The EC funds of this programme are dedicated, among others, for disseminating scientific & technical highlights as well as for equipping scientists and engineers with essential training and this way take maximal advantage of existing and future radio astronomical infrastructures. All supported events must focus primarily on the scientific/technical results achieved using the RadioNet infrastructures (EVN, e-MERLIN, NOEMA, IRAM-30m, LOFAR, Effelsberg, APEX and ALTA) and the project technical developments (AETHRA, BRAND EVN and RINGS). Event in the field is not eligible for support. Additionally, the RadioNet funds are dedicated to support mobility, in order to reinforce the contact between different discipline groups: astronomers, engineers and industry. The exchange programme - STM (Short Term Missions) of technical staff is open not only to the RadioNet partners, but also to other institutes. However, in the latter case, the visit must take place at RadioNet beneficiaries.
RadioNet funds can be used to support travel of
- RadioNet beneficiaries as organisers (guide for organisers), speakers=users of the RN infrastructures (or JRAs) presenting the results from the use, trainees, tutors/lectures and STM recipients
- exceptionally also non-RadioNet beneficiaries in case of speakers=users of the RadioNet infrastructures presenting the results of the use, speakers=experts bringing added value to the RadioNet, trainees of the RadioNet training events, the European ARC visitors, the STM recipients,
