We would like to invite you to attend a 1.5-day open workshop on future developments and science operations of the
UK’s National Radio Astronomy Facility, e-MERLIN and its role within European VLBI Network (EVN) to be held at
the Jodrell Bank Observatory on 11-12th September 2017.
This will be the second of a series of open meetings and workshops to allow the astronomical community to discuss and
contribute to the future developments and operations of the UK’s National Radio Astronomy Facility, e-MERLIN. Input
from the first meeting permitted us to submit two proposals to STFC, the first of these seeks to secure the operations of
e-MERLIN for a 5 year period (2018-2023) and the second aims to implement a development programme that would
greatly enhance the capability of the array. The main purpose of this second workshop will be to update the community
regarding the status of these developments and to consult the community about possible choices and their
consequences.
