RadioNet@EWASS2019

The European Week of Astronomy and Space Science (EWASS, formerly JENAM) is the annual meeting of the European Astronomical Society (EAS). In addition to plenary sessions and the award of prestigious prizes, the conference hosts many symposia held in parallel, as well as special sessions and meetings.

EWASS2019 took place in Lyon, France from 24 to 28 June 2019 and it was attended by more than 1000 astrophysicists from Europe and even beyond.

RadioNet as in the years before was a proud sponsor of the EWASS. The RadioNet manager Dr. Izabela Rottmann has been invited to the Special Session SS38 European Forum of Astronomical Communities, which deserves special mention. This session focused on supporting the professionalisation of astronomy communities in Europe by identifying ways to increase opportunities and access to training, mentoring, exchange schemes, secondments and fellowships, travel and research grants, and to increase diversity in the field.

Rottmann gave a talk on the RadioNet impact on radio astronomy in Europe addressing the free of charge access to the world-class European radio infrastructures, user support, technical developments, and the RadioNet impact on European radio astronomy scientifically and technically in the future.
