The European Union stands by Ukraine and its people. In her statement from March 3, 2022, Mariya Gabriel, EU Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, expressed that the European Commission is determined on the following measures:
First: not to engage into further cooperation projects with Russian entities.
Second: suspension of any payment to Russian entities under existing contracts.
Third: Ukrainian scientists and researchers are key participants in the EU Framework programmes for R&I and have demonstrated excellence and innovation leadership across many fields.
