The CASA-VLBI workshop started today in Dwingeloo

The goal of the workshop is to train participants in the use of the new CASA tools for VLBI data processing, which have been developed at JIVE. This training event will be the first step in setting up a larger scale teaching course for VLBI data-reduction in CASA, which can become part of the regular radio astronomy schools for young scientists.

The workshop is highly interactive, with focus on hands-on work and participants are invited to spread their new knowledge in their home institutes and countries.

Furthermore, the workshop is meant as a kind of transition. With the outcome, the development for the software that will be at the basis of the work to be done in the RadioNet Joint Research Activity RINGS, could be finalized.
